Hierarchical porous carbon derived from one-step self-activation of zinc gluconate for symmetric supercapacitors

摘要: Porous carbons with high specific area surfaces are promising electrode materials for supercapacitors. However, their production usually involves complex, time-consuming, and corrosive processes. Hence, a straightforward and effective strategy is presented for producing highly porous carbons via a self-activation procedure utilizing zinc gluconate as the precursor. The volatile nature of zinc at high temperatures gives the carbons a large specific surface area and an abundance of mesopores, which avoids the use of additional activators and templates. Consequently, the obtained porous carbon electrode delivers a satisfactory specific capacitance and outstanding cycling durability of 90.9% after 50000 cycles at 10 A∙g–1. The symmetric supercapacitors assembled by the optimal electrodes exhibit an acceptable rate capability and a distinguished cycling stability in both aqueous and ionic liquid electrolytes. Accordingly, capacitance retention rates of 77.8% and 85.7% are achieved after 50000 cycles in aqueous alkaline electrolyte and 10000 cycles in ionic liquid electrolyte. Moreover, the symmetric supercapacitors deliver high energy/power densities of 49.8 W∙h∙kg–1/2477.8 W∙kg–1 in the Et4NBF4 electrolyte, outperforming the majority of previously reported porous carbon-based symmetric supercapacitors in ionic liquid electrolytes.

A total torque index for dynamic performance evaluation of a radial symmetric six-legged robot

摘要:

This article focuses on the dynamic index and performance of a radial symmetric six-legged robot. At first the structure of the robot is described in brief and its inverse kinematics is presented. Then the dynamic model is formulated as based on the Lagrange equations. A novel index of total torque is proposed by considering the posture of the supporting legs. The new index can be used to optimize the leg’s structure and operation for consuming minimum power and avoiding unstable postures of the robot. A characterization of the proposed six-legged robot is obtained by a parametric analysis of robot performance through simulation using the presented dynamic model. Main influences are outlined as well as the usefulness of the proposed performance index.

摘要: NiCoP4O12/NiCoP nanorod-like arrays with tunable grain boundary density and pores were synthesized by the processes composed of hydrothermal and pyrolysis, in which, the electron structure of Ni and Co atoms characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy was contemporaneous inverse manipulated. The optimized NiCoP4O12/NiCoP arrays have a high specific capacitance of 507.8 μAh∙cm–2 at 1 mA∙cm–2, and good rate ability of 64.7% retention at 30-folds increased current density. Importantly, an ultra-stable ability, 88.5% of retention after 10000 cycles, was achieved in an asymmetric cell assembled of the NiCoP4O12/NiCoP arrays with activated carbon. In addition, the energy and power densities of an asymmetric cell were higher than those of other work, demonstrating as-prepared NiCoP4O12/NiCoP arrays are promising electrodes for supercapacitors.

Phosphorus-doped Ni–Co sulfides connected by carbon nanotubes for flexible hybrid supercapacitor

摘要: As promising electrode materials for supercapacitors, nickel-cobalt bimetallic sulfides render the advantages of abundant redox reactions and inherently high conductivity. However, in general, unsatisfactory performance of low specific capacity, low rate capability, and fast capacity loss exist in Ni–Co sulfide electrodes. Herein, we rationally regulate phosphorus-doped nickel–cobalt sulfides (P-NCS) to enhance the electrochemical performance by gas–solid phosphorization. Moreover, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as conductive additives are added to improve the cycle stability and conductivity and form the composite P-NCS/C/CNT. According to density functional theory, more electrons near the Fermi surface of P-NCS are demonstrated notionally than those of simple CoNi2S4. Electrochemical results manifest that P-NCS/C/CNT exhibits superior electrochemical performance, e.g., high specific capacity (932.0 C∙g‒1 at 1 A∙g‒1), remarkable rate capability (capacity retention ratio of 69.1% at 20 A∙g‒1), and lower charge transfer resistance. More importantly, the flexible hybrid asymmetric supercapacitor is assembled using P-NCS/C/CNT and activated carbon, which renders an energy density of 34.875 W·h∙kg‒1 at a power density of 375 W∙kg‒1. These results show that as-prepared P-NCS/C/CNT demonstrates incredible possibility as a battery-type electrode for high-performance supercapacitors.

Shear stress distribution prediction in symmetric compound channels using data mining and machine learning

摘要: Shear stress distribution prediction in open channels is of utmost importance in hydraulic structural engineering as it directly affects the design of stable channels. In this study, at first, a series of experimental tests were conducted to assess the shear stress distribution in prismatic compound channels. The shear stress values around the whole wetted perimeter were measured in the compound channel with different floodplain widths also in different flow depths in subcritical and supercritical conditions. A set of, data mining and machine learning algorithms including Random Forest (RF), M5P, Random Committee, KStar and Additive Regression implemented on attained data to predict the shear stress distribution in the compound channel. Results indicated among these five models; RF method indicated the most precise results with the highest value of 0.9. Finally, the most powerful data mining method which studied in this research compared with two well-known analytical models of Shiono and Knight method (SKM) and Shannon method to acquire the proposed model functioning in predicting the shear stress distribution. The results showed that the RF model has the best prediction performance compared to SKM and Shannon models.

Isogeometric topology optimization based on energy penalization for symmetric structure

摘要: We present an energy penalization method for isogeometric topology optimization using moving morphable components (ITO–MMC), propose an ITO–MMC with an additional bilateral or periodic symmetric constraint for symmetric structures, and then extend the proposed energy penalization method to an ITO–MMC with a symmetric constraint. The energy penalization method can solve the problems of numerical instability and convergence for the ITO–MMC and the ITO–MMC subjected to the structural symmetric constraint with asymmetric loads. Topology optimization problems of asymmetric, bilateral symmetric, and periodic symmetric structures are discussed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed energy penalization approach. Compared with the conventional ITO–MMC, the energy penalization method for the ITO–MMC can improve the convergence rate from 18.6% to 44.5% for the optimization of the asymmetric structure. For the ITO–MMC under a bilateral symmetric constraint, the proposed method can reduce the objective value by 5.6% and obtain a final optimized topology that has a clear boundary with decreased iterations. For the ITO–MMC under a periodic symmetric constraint, the proposed energy penalization method can dramatically reduce the number of iterations and obtain a speedup of more than 2.

Effect of steady shear on multi-axial texture of symmetric diblock copolymers

摘要: The effect of steady shear on multi-axial texture of symmetric diblock copolymer was investigated by using dynamic density functional theory. Through modifying the periodic boundary condition, the parallel-transverse biaxial texture and perpendicular-parallel-transverse triaxial texture have been observed. In the formation of the multi-axial texture, there are two critical velocities μ and µ, at which the transition between the perpendicular and the parallel lamellar morphology, and the transition between the parallel and the transverse lamellar morphology occur, respectively. The two critical velocities increase as the interaction parameter increases, but they almost remain constant at different shear rates. Furthermore, the rotation from the transverse lamellae to the parallel lamellae induced by the shear strain, and the increase of lamellar spacings of the three lamellae after removing the shear, have also been observed by the time evolution of the morphologies. These phenomena are consistent with experimental work.

Refined analysis of axi-symmetric circular cylinder in the axial magnetic field without ad hoc assumption

摘要:

The refined theory for axi-symmetric magnetoelastic circular cylinder is deduced systematically and directly from linear magnetoelasticity theory. Based on the general solution of magnetoelastic equation and the Lur’e method, the refined theory yields the solutions for magnetoelastic circular cylinder without ad hoc assumptions. On the basis of the refined theory developed in the present study, solutions are obtained for magnetoelastic circular cylinder with homogeneous and non-homogenous boundary conditions, respectively. For the circular cylinder with homogeneous boundary conditions, the refined theory provides exact solutions that satisfy all of the governing equations. The exact solutions can be divided into three parts: the 2-orders equation, the transcendental equation, and the magnetic equation. In the case of non-homogenous boundary conditions, the approximate governing equations are accurate up to the high-order terms with respect to cylinder radius.

Non-thermal plasma enhances performances of biochar in wastewater treatment and energy storage applications

摘要: Surface functionalization or modification to introduce more oxygen-containing functional groups to biochar is an effective strategy for tuning the physicochemical properties and promoting follow-up applications. In this study, non-thermal plasma was applied for biochar surface carving before being used in contaminant removal and energy storage applications. The results showed that even a low dose of plasma exposure could introduce a high number density of oxygen-functional groups and enhance the hydrophilicity and metal affinity of the pristine biochar. The plasma-treated biochar enabled a faster metal-adsorption rate and a 40% higher maximum adsorption capacity of heavy metal ion Pb2+. Moreover, to add more functionality to biochar surface, biochar with and without plasma pre-treatment was activated by KOH at a temperature of 800 °C. Using the same amount of KOH, the plasma treatment resulted in an activated carbon product with the larger BET surface area and pore volume. The performance of the treated activated carbon as a supercapacitor electrode was also substantially improved by>30%. This study may provide guidelines for enhancing the surface functionality and application performances of biochar using non-thermal-based techniques.

摘要: Two new -symmetric primary-secondary diamines were synthesized via the reaction of ( , )-1,2-diphenyl ethylene diamine with 3,5-ditert-butyl salicylaldehyde and salicylaldehyde, respectively, followed by reduction with NaBH . The combination of the ligand from 3,5-ditert-butyl salicylaldehyde with CuBr could effciently catalyze the Henry reaction to afford -nitroalkanols in moderate to good yields (up to 87%) and high enantioselectivities (up to 88% ). A possible mechanism of the reaction was proposed.

摘要: With more and more applications of glass in advanced fields of science, the demand for glass machining precision has increased greatly. More and more attention is being paid to glass cutting because precise glass parts with various shapes can be obtained at high efficiency and low cost. To improve the machining precision of part surfaces and to facilitate tool design and cutting parameter selection, the initiation and propagation laws of glass cracks in specimens subjected to normal loading by symmetric wedges were investigated. Research results show that initiation and propagation laws are the same with interior symmetric wedge angles of 30o-120o, while the laws are different with interior symmetric wedge angles equal to or more than "e150o. The relationship between medial crack length and normal loading was also investigated when specimens were indented by symmetrical wedges with interior angles of 30o-120o.

基于有序特征值矩阵的对称变量检测算法 Article

摘要: 为简化布尔函数中12类对称变量的检测过程,本文提出基于最小项展开或真值表的对称性检测新算法。首先,根据逻辑变量的对称性定义,定义基于真值表的有序特征值矩阵。通过分析12类对称变量有序特征值矩阵的约束条件,提出对称变量检测算法。该算法适用于含无关项布尔函数和不含无关项布尔函数中的对称变量检测。该算法避免了图形方法、谱系数方法、与—异或方法中的变量数限制,也解决了快速算法中的完备性问题。算法用C语言实现并对MCNC91标准电路进行测试。结果表明,与传统方法相比,新算法在适用的变量数、检测含无关项布尔函数、检测类型、检测过程复杂度方面是最优算法。

Fabricating sustainable lignin-derived porous carbon as electrode for high-performance supercapacitors

摘要: Lignocellulosic biomass such as plants and agricultural waste are ideal to tackle the current energy crisis and energy-related environmental issues. Carbon-rich lignin is abundant in lignocellulosic biomass, whose high-value transformation and utilization has been the most urgent problem to be solved. Herein, we propose a method for the preparation of porous carbon from lignin employing an H3PO4-assisted hydrothermal method. We characterize the as-prepared lignin-derived porous carbon and investigate its potential for energy storage. After assisted hydrothermal treatment followed by carbonization at 800 °C, the lignin-derived porous carbon displays a high specific capacitance (223.6 F·g–1 at 0.1 A·g–1) and excellent cycling ability with good capacitance retention. In this present study, the resultant lignin-derived porous carbon was used as the electrode of a supercapacitor, illustrating yet another potential high-value use for lignin, namely as a candidate for the sustainable fabrication of main supercapacitor components.

A method of determining flame radiation fraction induced by interaction burning of tri-symmetric propane

摘要: The interaction of multiple fires may lead to a higher flame height and more intense radiation flux than a single fire, which increases the possibility of flame spread and risks to the surroundings. Experiments were conducted using three burners with identical heat release rates (HRRs) and propane as the fuel at various spacings. The results show that flames change from non-merging to merging as the spacing decreases, which result in a complex evolution of flame height and merging point height. To facilitate the analysis, a novel merging criterion based on the dimensionless spacing / was proposed. For non-merging flames ( / >0.368), the flame height is almost identical to a single fire; for merging flames ( / ≤0.368), based on the relationship between thermal buoyancy and thrust (the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the flame), a quantitative analysis of the flame height, merging point height, and air entrainment was formed, and the calculated merging flame heights show a good agreement with the measured experimental values. Moreover, the multi-point source model was further improved, and radiation fraction of propane was calculated. The data obtained in this study would play an important role in calculating the external radiation of propane fire.
